Construction
Hästens’ new unique patented spring system provides excellent softness while giving you outstanding deep support. The lower spring system features 7 cm high, firm springs made from heat-treated spring steel, resting on flax padding. The flax padding allows air and moisture to pass through, but not dust. The upper spring system comprises 13 cm high heat-treated, individually sprung springs (medium or firm). These are followed by three thick layers of cotton/wool. The bed also has reinforced corner springs and flax corner padding, all built up by hand by our team of skilled craftsmen.
Medium or firm?
The Hästens Classic is available in two versions: medium or firm. When you try these, you will soon find which suits you best. Your weight and height are important factors when choosing your bed. But your feelings and habits are important, too. If it feels like you are sinking too deep in a Classic medium, a Classic firm is the right bed for you. The two Hästens Classics feature the same construction and qualities, but with differing degrees of firmness. The only factor affecting the degree of firmness is the thickness of the spiral springs. The difference in firmness is most noticeable deep down. Classic is upholstered in 100% cotton and is lined. The cotton lining prevents dust from entering the bed from below. This also makes the underside of the bed very easy to vacuum. The fine-quality natural stuffing materials alllows the bed to breathe, while helping to make it last such a long time. The fabric on the upper side of the Classic (beneath the top mattress) is double elasticated for maximum pliability. Choose between Hästens’ BV, BJ and BJX top mattresses. They bring out the very best of the Classic’s superior qualities.
