Nature's own materials

Nature is alive — and so are the materials we work with. That is something we appreciate and pay attention to. Our beds are made exclusively from hard-wearing natural materials, such as horsehair, flax, wool and pine from the forests of northern Sweden.

Flax

Flax is one of our oldest cultivated crops, popular through the ages thanks to its combination of strength, elasticity and ability to absorb moisture. Hästens uses flax underneath and between the

spring systems, and in some cases above the springs. The flax padding is extremely durable and flexible, and it also minimises and diverts static electricity.
